Leadership Begins With Listening
To your own story. To the people you serve.
To the quiet voice that says something better is possible.
Your story makes you the leader you are. You are continuing to write your story and it influences the story of your organization, your team, and your sphere’s of influence. What is the story you want to write?
My Story
I’ve been leading and working with those that lead for over 37 years—25 of them in CEO or executive roles. I’ve made challenging decisions and led through transitions I didn’t feel ready for. I have sat with the weight of wondering if I was in the right seat. I learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about being willing to sit with the questions—yours and others’. It’s about creating space for people to discover their gifts, even when the systems feel broken.
The leaders who shaped me most weren’t the ones with the best strategies. They were the ones who listened deeply, asked better questions, believed I had something to contribute, and supported my growth and learning
That’s the kind of leadership I help others grow into.
I do this work because I’ve seen what happens when a leader gets clear—when they reconnect with purpose, leverage their strengths, and lead with courage and grace. The ripple effect is a catalyst for personal and organizational growth.
How I work with leaders
Every leader has a unique story and context. My job isn’t to prescribe solutions—it’s to help you discover what’s already true and what needs to shift.
I bring my CliftonStrengths of Relator, Connectedness, Command, Ideation, and Strategic to every conversation:
- Relator — I’m wired for authentic relationships that go beyond the surface.
- Connectedness — I see patterns and links you might miss. I’ll help you understand how your story shapes your leadership.
- Command — I will challenge you in a respectful way with care that honors who you are.
- Ideation — I bring creativity and possibility. We’ll explore new angles and reframe stuck narratives.
- Strategic — We won’t just talk. We’ll create pathways forward.
I’m a credentialed coach with International Coaching Federation (ICF) a CliftonStrengths Champion Coach, and a Qualified Administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory. I have a Master’s in Organizational Leadership. These all influence how we engage together, but more than these, I bring 37 years of walking this path myself.
Beyond Leadership
I’ve been married to my incredible wife for 37 years. We’ve raised three daughters who are now leading in their own spheres with their families. Our family all live locally so we get to see our kids and grandkids frequently.
When I’m not coaching, you’ll find me hiking trails with my wife, out on my bike, or creating something with photos or wood. You might also find me with a book or watching the Minnesota Timberwolves. These aren’t just hobbies. They’re how I stay grounded. They remind me that rest, creativity, and connection are essential to live out my purpose and calling.
My faith is also essential and is the lens that I see life, transitions, and challenges. It is also what gives me hope.
Lets Talk
If any of this resonates, I’d love to have a conversation to learn more about your needs and aspirations.
